For those of us who serve the God of Israel, food is not merely a way to sustain our bodies or entertain our taste buds. For us, eating food serves holy purposes. It gives us the energy, health, and strength that we use to serve our Creator by carrying out his commandments. It is important that we sanctify our eating by properly thanking God for what we have eaten. Deuteronomy 8:10 instructs that “you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.” Let your table be a place of thankfulness for the good things that God has given.
